SCA 120 gallon reef tank build

Tank is ordered as well as most equipment.

Figured I would finally do a build thread after a 2 year break.

I got started on framing the stand, tomorrow night I will skin and start trim work.

Tank specs -
120 gallon starfire SCA
Omega vertex 150 skimmer
(2) mp40qd
M1 dc return pump
Reef link
Xr30s or reefbreeders leds
Tunze omsmolator
Sump either 40 breeder or synergy custom/elite sump

Likely an apex wireless controller eventually

Tank will be mostly sps and zoas

Hoping I left enough space for the overflow and return to clear the frame...routed it out some just in case and will be adding some supports to the front and back. Added 4 more supports to all corners and it's solid as a rock!

Braced all four front and back corners and doing the same for the side tomorrow before I skin. Coming a long quick. Then the rear and front supports for the doors.

Thinking of either track doors or magnetic....any input?

If it would stop raining I could go pick up the plywood to skin the stand.

Skimmer is ordered and will be in this week. Went with a vertex omega 150.

Looking at the m1 and varios6 return pumps. Any inputs?

I ran the VarioS6 pump for a year or so, no issues with it at all. No experience with the M1, I went with the VarioS since it is apex compatible and cheaper. I am now running the neptune COR20.

Skimmer came in for the 120. Vertex omega 150.

Ordering the varios6 and tunze osmolator next week.

Still debating lighting. I really like my xr15 on the nuvo 20 and their program for the radion and vortech. But $1200 in lighting ehhhhh.....likely the route I will go though depending how growth is in the 20 with the xr15.

Any input on the reef breeders leds now? Been a while since I've really looked into them (used to diy my leds).

Maybe I'll get some more work done on the stand this weekend to have a better update for y'all.

This is my SCA 120 still building the hood and extra cabinet . I mounted my door panel with magnets so it fit flush and a strip to keep the panel from warping.
