Hey everyone, I am in the process of gathering all of my equipment to get my 150 gallon SCA tank setup.

One of the questions that I've run into (and maybe I'm overthinking it) is how many GPH the overflow box is rated for. It has the standard center overflow with (2) 1" drains and (1) 1" return drilled in the bottom. I really want to maximize the return pump for this tank and not buy something that under performs or over performs.

If anyone knows what the GPH the box is rated for, I would appreciate it. I know that each 1" drain is "capable" of 920 gph or something like that, but with the weir, i'm sure it's less than that.

Lastly, if anyone has suggestions for a good return pump that they have found to work well for this tank, I would greatly appreciate that as well. I have looked at the Maxspect Jump 6k or 8k, but I can't find many reviews for it. So, I question that pump. Another option would the the Sicce SDC 6.0 or 7.0.

Thank you!

As you stated a 1in drain will do about 800-1000gph fully open. Depending on how many 90s you have, that will slow it down a little bit as well. If you're going directly from the tank to a sump underneath, I would guess around 800-900gph. As @WIReefer stated the vectra would be a great pump, I believe the s2 would give you more power than you need and could be dialed in. Good luck :)
