Need some help on what I should do. I have an SCA 50 PnP system that has been set up about 4 months now. The skimmer itself seems to be doing a good job, but I keep having issues with the pumps. I am using the stock ATH-1100 pump.
The first pump started having issues about 2 months in. All of a sudden one day it was just super loud. I did research online, and apparently these pumps were known for this. I went ahead and contacted SCA, and was sent a replacement pump. Hooked everything up and we are up and rolling again with no noise. Fast forward about a month later, and back to the same issue. It is to the point where I am running it all night, and throughout the day while at work. I turn it off when I get home from work so that i can enjoy the tank.
Should i just invest in a new skimmer altogether, or keep trying my luck with another one of these pumps?
