Hello All, I am just about finished with my 50g SCA cube. I recently upgraded to a 50g cube from a JBJ 30g rimless AIO. I am very pleased with the progression. I love having the sump to hide all the filter equipment and with the expand-ability of the add additional equipment. I found that the AIO aquariums really limit the ability to upgrade or even install decent equipment to keep your aquarium in pristine conditions. I did have to make a few adjustments to the the sump design and opted for the all wood cabinet instead of the MDF stand. In my experience the MDF stands don't do well over time with contact with water and start to peal their laminate covering and the material begins to bubble after extended exposure to moisture. I removed all the baffles from the sump and replaced them with taller baffles to keep the skimmer and refugium sections at a constant water level and allow my ATO to work more efficiently in the return pump section. I wend with aragonite sand and marco dry rock (about 40 lbs). I changed out the cheap Chinese make knock off lock-line with real lock-line return nozzles. I made my own acrylic overflow cover, stripped the wood stand of the paint and stained the stand with a dark espresso color. I am running an Eshopps 150 skimmer, Jeabo DCP-6500 DC return pump, Maxspect Gyre 230, Maxspect Ethereal LED light, Memo nano planted tank LED light for my fug, Tunze ATO, inkbird temp controller, and a Jeabo 3 head dosing pump. I would love some feedback and let me know how you have been a successful reefer.

That’s a great looking tank so far Kenny and thanks for all the pictures!

I really like the aquascaping.

You’ve made it all very neat and compact, very nice.

And welcome to R2R by the way as well!

Thank SRP! As we all say it's a work in progress. I am venturing into sps corals this time around and waiting to dial in my stability before I start buying the $100 + corals. Getting all that to fit in the small 24 x24 cabinet and still look good was quite a challenge.

Hi,

What are the internal dimensions of the all wood stand? I'm planning out a system and want to see if a Trigger 20C sump (20x20X15) would fit in there.

Thanks
