That's an electric scallop.. did you not put it in on purpose?

They are moving filter feeders with a specific diet. Plan to feed phyto directly. The electricity thing in the mouth is cool but mine always positioned itself where it couldn't be seen.

I haven't seen it in months, and without direct feeding, I assume it is no longer.

No kidding? Huh. I got him, 2 live red leg hermits, and an emerald crab. The emerald crab went in the dip and didn't make it unfortunately.

Had zoa's on it too. Sold it as live rock. Got a pretty good deal.

Although not true scallops, flame Scallops are non-photosynthetic filter feeders that will only eat food of the size they prefer (mainly phytoplankton between 5-40 micron and zooplankton that’s under 200 microns). In the home aquarium they need an endless supply of platonic foods in the water at all times; these platonic foods should include but are not limited to, phytoplankton. Copepod nauplii, diatoms, etc.
While Flame Scallops can survive through spot feeding, broadcast feeding is highly recommended as it insures that food is always available and will help contribute to overall life in the tank. A light stir of sand bed will also provide them nutrients.
Moderate to medium current is enough to get their tentacles moving so they can catch the food is ideal current in tank.
They can clap their shell close, and normally if you see them moving across the tank, it mayd be because they think they are in danger such as some fish nibbling on them or they are not getting enough food or light.

TEMPERATURE: 77- 78-degrees Fahrenheit.
dKH: 8-12
pH: 8.1-8.3
SALINITY: 1.024-1.025

I just watched a vid of these guys. Very cool!! IMO you scored big time with this little guy!! I'm jealous!! Unless of course they can become a pest but it doesn't look like they can.
