So im gearing up for a Red Sea 350 or 425 XL mixed reef. The cardboard is sized exactly to the 425 and has some lines drawn for the 350. Im having a lil trouble putting together a scape I love.

Id like some feeback so let me know what you think! Thanks

I personally like tanks with room for corals on top and swimming room to spare. I think you did a good job with negative space. The small single rock is a nice addition too. If you really want to make a change and have more rock, you could maybe get something to make the left structure reach up higher, it might be hard to find a rock that will make that look natural, though.

Personally, I don't think you need to change it. Sleep on it, look at it in the morning, and make your call after you have taken your eyes off of it.

Also! If the structures are 2 rocks in the middle, maybe drag them apart so there is a little passage through the middle, then slightly angle them. Doing this will give more depth. If you went scuba diving you would rarely look at a flat rock face.

Great idea, im going to try that out!

What’s your plans with the tank? I actually like the scape, it does appear somewhat natural.

Have you tried putting the big rock with the string around it in the middle section of the scape?

I think it looks great. I would probably add another small single rock island on the front left corner. Maybe move the singe rock island your currently have in front middle there and put a island about twice the size of that one where it is now. Love the archs.

Thanks! Healthy mixed, 6-7 fish, lots of softies, some SPS, zoas. I want some good real estate for corals as well as some good places for fish or cleaners to hang out.

Plan your scape around your plan for the corals, the while right side will be too high for most softies, lps, zoas. Your real estate is setup for corals to be pretty high in the tank. I would do more tiers, so you have room to place corals at different levels of the tank.

v.1 is far better IMO.

v.2 is too vertical for LPS and softies, you may need more horizontal space.
