Scarlet Hermit crab

hello I'm breeding clownfish, are these hermit crabs will eat my clownfish eggs? or they will just eat my algae in my tank? my guy from America said they will eat those but my neighborhood guy breeds a succesful clownfish eggs and hermit didn't touch it at all.

I can't imagine the clowns would let anything near the eggs.
