Hello fellow reefers!
There are some fun but creepy animals out there! Some of which may end up in our reef tanks.
What do you have in your reef that look scary or may give you the creeps?

I’ll go first with one that’s more so obvious and I just added to my 3’ reef today. The serpent/brittle starfish, these guys can be spooky in the day when they poke their legs out of the rockwork to collect food.
My second however, I’ll let the photo explain it (If you’ve seen one of my articles you may recognise this photo).

I see an eye... don't leave me in suspense!
It was my mature Pseudocheilinops ataenia (I now have 3 juveniles which… they’re equally just as creepy at night when you don’t expect it).

My wrasses are never that creepy. They just seem to want to get fed all the time! :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Shrimps give me the creeps. I have 7 cleaners but they are only there because they do a good job at removing flukes from fish.

But they creep me out. They look like roaches which are my biggest fear.

I once got creeped out by my urchin carrying my cleaner’s shed… Looked like some sort of spider crab had made it’s way into my tank.

Really big amphipods. Scare me every time I see them. Also getting close to predatory species like mantis shrimp and eels.

Though what really scared me was when I was looking for my missing Amblyeleotris guttata late at night and instead got surprised by my first sighting of a giant bristle worm.
