I have mostly a scheduling question. Surfing and surfing with 0 success given so many different set ups.

Questions:
1. How can I get more time available for viewing my tank?
2. I was told I should have a longer ramp up and ramp down time and less peak. Is that true?
3. Can I have more "white time" because my tank seems so dark (personal preference), but not sure if I should be doing that for fear of impacting my coral.

Currently I am at the light settings below for 8 hours with 1 hour ramp up/down at the beginning and end with total dark outside of those hours. Not sure if there are 1,000 different opinions, or something fact based?

Standard 75G 4 ft, 18 in deep tank with sofites/LPS (xenia, zoas, mushrooms, hammer, acans, anemone . . . ).

I have been running the same schedule for a year plus when I bought 2 Hydra 26s and corals are happy and growing. I am not worried about growth or health. I just want to have more "light on" time.
  • UV:118
  • Violet: 101
  • Royal: 82
  • Blue: 69
  • Green: 6
  • Red: 5
  • White: 19
Side note: I put everything at 100% to take a quick picture the other day and my wife says: "Why can't we have that all the time? That looks way better!!". I have been told that would fry my corals.

Bump.

What is the "@" to ask the more experienced guys to help? I forget.

You can run everything at 100 and keep red green 5 and whites where they are. Its basically the AB+ schedule which is used for color amd growth.

Ramp up 1 hour and down 1 hour is good. With lps and softies you can get away with much less light. So running whites for only 4 hours or less in the middle of your schedule wouldn't hurt what you have.
