I don't like canopies. But for some reason your whole setup is making me love it man!

I agree, I love the look of a floating light fixture, and an open top tank. BUT since I went DIY, it was much easier to just cram it all inside a canopy. And my fiancÃ© HATES when light spills out into the room. We go to peoples houses with no canopies, and she doesn't get how people deal with it.

They are a little loud. Kinda bummed about that. BUT the way that they move water is way worth it. I had a Chinese wp60 in the tank while it was cycling, and it was garbage compared to the Vortech pumps.

Still need to redo my aquascape and tidy up wires down below. Also had one of my led drivers go bad. I traded a guy for some used drivers, so I was kind if expecting it. No biggie, already have a replacement ready to go. Also need to get my vertex reactor and calcium reactor going. After that, the build is done. Then time to sit back and enjoy the darn thing

Same here, need to get my calcium reactor in line. Currently it's back to two part but silly me, I'm missing a pH probe for the tank. LOL

Couple random pics. Hoping this weekend I can get down on my aquascape and finish this build. Just need to hook up the calcium reactor and clean up the apex wires down below.

Prolly time to get my vertex reactor all hooked up, been having to clean my glass every 2 days. Phosphates must be high.
