So far so good. I had the issue with the fixtures getting too hot in my canopy. Cutting out the top fixed that issue. So far that was my only complaint. But if I hadn't purchased the dimmable Sunpower, I would have never known the fixtures were over heating, so I guess it's a good thing.

My Sps are loving the T5s. In just a month, I've already seen corals changing for the better. Faster growth, and better colors.

One of my biggest concerns was heat. That was keeping me away from trying T5s. I thought if I changed to T5s, that I was going to need a chiller. I had 2 small fans in my canopy that I used to cool my LEDs and my retrofit t5s. I ended up adjusting them so they blow down towards the water, and they are controlled by my apex. My tank hasn't hit 79 yet. I think the highest I've seen it was 78.8-78.9.

Got my avast calcium reactor second chamber all hooked up today. Really helps scrub any excess co2 out of the water before it hits the tank.

Got this on Amazon prime day $33

A little upgrade to the standard Apex display. I'm gunna mount it under my stand. It will be used for the sole purpose of controlling my tank.

I finally mounted my reefbrites. I feel like an idiot, I didn't realize the brackets that came with the Reefbrites mounted right to the Sunpower. I was trying to figure out all these elaborate ways of mounting them, and after a couple minutes on RC I found a thread explaining how to mount them. [emoji849][emoji379]

Didn't add a ton of shimmer, but it does make the tank look a little more blue, and makes my acros POP so much more. Don't regret spending the extra bucks for these at all. They are a great addition to T5s!!

Love shallows. And I'm all corals and only a few fish I can control coral. I can't fish. Only clowns and mandarins I keep. Less worry about feeding

Nothing crazy as far as fish go. I've had some really nice fish, but after a few years some have died. It's so hard restocking. Finding healthy fish is tough. I would rather spend my money on corals, they are much hardier. Lol.

Beautiful tank! Just went through entire build thread. Did you add reefbrites just to front of fixture or do you also have them on the back? And is there an advantage of having your water in your sump flow through that slot design into your refugium rather than over or under baffles?
