Schnitzel's SPS

It is interesting to see what these guys look like once they been in captivity for a while. Beautiful colors though

My calcium reactor was running low on media, so I tore it apart and added new media. I used to use Caribsea and Neomag, but I decided to switch to TLF Reborn and Remag. The media lasted about 1.5 years.

Back to full! Very nice. Any reason for the switch? Or just trying something new?

I have the same Ca reactor on my 200 gallon. Did you switch out the pump? Didn't it come with a pan world pump? Why the switch? Im curious to know what you set your ph for the reactor at and the drip rate? Thanks.

Yep, I swapped the panworld out for a Sicce 1.5. The panworld was noisy and hot. Very easy swap.

I run my ph at 6.5-6.6. My flow rate is wide open. I don't even use the micro gate valve anymore.

Well I may attempt a pump swap at a later date.

So is your alk stable running wide open? What is your alk level maintained at under those settings? You have a lot of sps so I would imagine its not running at a high level because its consumed by your sps.

I have my pH set between 6.9-7, the pinpoint controller is not as precise as say, an apex controller. These settings keeps my Alk at 9. However, I just started and have little dinky frags. I run my valve borderline wide open (almost dripping at end of stream). I should have more frags in the tank in a few weeks. :)

Tank looks amazing! Love the photos as well.

How high are your T5's right now and what is your lighting schedule + % you are running?

My alk stays between 7 and 8, and yes it's very stable.

You won't regret changing the pump to a sicce.

Lights are 11" off the water. And I run the T5s at 100%. My T5s are on about 10 hours a day. My Reefbrites are on 13 hours.

Perfect, thanks :) Having some SPS issues these days where everything else is going strong. Just wanted to grab some info.

Man you are killing it beautiful acros! I didn't go back and I look do you have a recent pic of the entire tank?

Awesome! That was also some great camera work adjusting for the lighting. It helped bring the colors into focus. I enjoy seeing the old video posted for comparison.
It is always inspiring to visit your thread.
