School of Wrasses?

Here’s the complexes that are slightly more peaceful than the others;
- Rubriventralis
- Lubbocki
- Cyanopleura
- Exquisitus
- Bathyphilus
- Lanceolatus
- Rubromarginatus
- Teminickii
- Filamentosus

Some of these complexes have species on the more aggressive side, those species are;
- C. briangreenei (Rubromarginatus) *
- C. pylei (Rubromarginatus) *
- C. katoi (Rubromarginatus) *

- C. teminickii (Teminickii) *
- C. cf. teminickii (Teminickii) *

- C. blatteus (Lanceolatus) *
- C. sanguineus (Lanceolatus) *
- C. rubriquamis (Lanceuolatus) *

- C. cyanogularis (Filamentosus)
- C. tonozukai (Filamentosus)
- C. filamentosus (Filamentosus)
- C. condei (Filamentosus) *
- C. marinda (Filamentosus) *
- C. walshi (Filamentosus) *
- C. rubripinnis (Filamentosus) *

The ones with the * next to them are slightly less aggressive than the ones without a *. The three without the * are possibly just as aggressive as C. scottorum can be.
Here’s the complexes you’ll want to look into that have the species best suited for the tank (And which species they are);

• Rubriventralis
- C. naokoae
- C. rubriventralis
- C. rubeus
- C. morrisoni
- C. africanus
- C. humanni
- C. hygroxeus
- C. joanallenae

• Exquisitus
- C. exquisitus

• Lubbocki
- C. lubbocki
- C. cenderawasih
- C. marjorie
- C. walindi
- C. flavidorsalis

• Bathyphilus
- C. bathyphilus
- C. efatensis
- C. nahacki

• Lunatus
- C. isosceles
- C. lunatus
- C. johnsoni
- C. cf lunatus
- C. squirei
- C. brunneus

• Rubromarginatus
- C. katoi
- C. pylei
- C. briangreenei
- C. rhomboidalis

Here’s a couple photos of my guys that are from any of these complexes to get you started.

I wouldn't place Lubbocki nor teminickii in the slightly more peaceful group.

The Cebu C. lubbocki is ever so slightly more aggressive however in general they’re not aggressive compared to other wrasses.

so you have two of the same C Lubbocki. I was thinking you only could get one of the same?

I do have two C. lubbocki however they’re different variations. You are only meant to house 1 of each species unless in a large tank (I personally wouldn’t do more than 1 of each “medium” wrasse species or complex in anything less than 4’).
My two lubbocki are both male as the females are identical to eachother whereas these guys have clear differences.
But fish that aren’t supposed to be peaceful are peaceful and fish that are meant to be peaceful seem to be aggressive in my tank. I mean I have a C. melanomarginatus in my mix of wrasses that is possibly known for being one of the most aggressive fairy wrasses yet mine is totally peaceful and only stands up for himself.

I’m still trying to find out what wrasse I have. It was supposed to be a blue throat fairy but it doesn’t exhibit any blue

Got any photos?
If it has red fins all on it then it’s possibly C. rubripinnis and not C. cyanogularis but if it’s not red then possibly a young Cyanogularis.

So technically if one of each of the below highlighted was added…I should be ok? Just can add another blue throat

It’s not recommended to mix species from the same complex but it’s also not impossible if done the right way. I would only do one of them from each complex and not two in a 75g.

Oh yeah, absolutely. Only meant one of each complex

so canary wrasse halichoeres chrysus isn't on this list? NM i see this is only a list of fairy wrasses.

Yeah, only the Fairy Wrasses are sorted into complexes, the rest it’s either really easy to see who will and won’t get along or it’s totally through the luck of the draw.
