Scissor tail dart fish - precision jumper

The LFS told me to keep a lid on. I have a lid on with only 0.25” gap all around. This guy got spooked yesterday and jumped through this gap - barely enough to fit his body. Found him on the floor too late.
I don’t have a snug - 0 gap - lid. Thought this was enough and never imagined he could aim for such a narrow gap.

Do all jumpers aim for the gap ? Have a fire fish that I am worried about now.

Yes, the % chance that a fish will aim for and slip through any gap is directly proportional to the cost of the fish, how recently you added the lid and when you just turned off the lights to go to sleep.
