quick question.. does scolding water kill ick or velvet.. ? any research on this..

It may but I would be extremely worried about injury to fish. Not something I would want to experiment with.

do you mean hot water for cleaning equipment (tank, net, heater, etc.)? or.... For cleaning purpose I believe boiling water can kill everything just like bleach.

yes... for equipment only... I take my TTM tanks ..10 gallon tanks and put in laudry sink.. run the hot water .. to the point that cant put hand in water.. rinse tank four times.. dry with paper towel and then under ceiling fan for 24 hours to dry.. I cant see any ick in the tank or equipment living through this..

If you sanitize everything with vinegar, 3 days drying time is usually sufficient to sterilize. I like to use a fan to be sure everything is thoroughly dried.
