Anyone know much about scolies? I saved 1 from a lfs (isn't fully recovered) but the thing is always hungry. Seems like anytime I look at it the feeding fingers are out.
I have been feeding it once a day w/ large mysis shrip, brine shrimp soaked in vitamins and coral amino acid.
My other scoly only extends its fingers at night.
Anyone else have a demanding scoly? :squigglemouth:

They will feed a lot of the time honestly. Especially if you are fooling with the tank and in and out of the water.

It's fine. Means it's happy. My acans are always presenting feeding tentacles.

So how often do you feed?
Mine has fingers out all the time. I'm only mess w/ the tank 1 time a day. During feeding time (which is at a certain time). Other than that the tank is pretty much automated.
I agree my acans extend fingers during feed and for a bit afterwards. I'll have to post a pic. I just figured its because its still recovering.

i dont feed my scoly just water changes is all. probably a few times a week if you really want?

Pretty much all my LPS's have there feeding tentacles out all the time. I don't think its a bad thing all of em' are growing, I wouldn't worry about it.

Here is a picture of the scoly (rt side). Currently it looks normal.
I figure it still wanting to eat daily since its still recovering. When I got it from the lfs it didn't even have fingers. I had to put a cup over it and feed tiny pieces of food. Now since it has fingers it can eat mysis but still can't eat large food.

I used to feed mine every time his mouth was open. That was pretty much everyday!
