I’m no scientist, but I’m almost for sure my ocellaris found a home on the scoly. Well more like the scoly is hosting the ocellaris. Anything I can do to prevent it? I have read that eventually it will kill the scoly. It’s funny that after months of hosting a shell is likes the scoly I put in 4 hours ago. The ocellaris is nipping the scoly around the mouth, which I assume is the clown trying to host.Scolys are tough. I had a puffer taking chunks before I could move it, full recovery.
When they recover some, a day or 2 , try feeding and see if they show their feeding tentacles.
My torches have looked worse.
Good luck.

I caught it in the early stages, I think he was testing the waters. He would lay in it then bolt away then come back and nip near the mouth then bolt away, and repeat. I moved my other scoly which is more flat to its position and the clown didn’t follow(as of rn). I will update you in about 2 hours to see if the feeders come out!Well, at least he’s not rolling in it.....or yet.
The scolly will need to throw out his feeders at night....if the clowns stop this...that’s a problem for the scolly.
If he’s just near it...no issue...
You could Just move it...see if mr clown follows....and stays..
Definitely reassurance!Don’t know if it helps but my torch looked the same as that for two days in my tank, all grayish and not happy, that was around 3 weeks ago. Now it looks incredible, 2-3inch polyp extension!
Don’t worry if they don’t yet, it may take a bit.....they are new....I caught it in the early stages, I think he was testing the waters. I figured, I have had scolys before, but shipping had also killed many of my corals, so like usual I freak out. While y’all are here, and we are talking about clowns, any tips for helping a anemone host a pair of clowns? (Ik it’s best to let them naturally do it, but they don’t tend to lean to that side of the tank).Don’t worry if they don’t yet, it may take a bit.....they are new....
Having the natural nem for the species of clowns.I figured, I have had scolys before, but shipping had also killed many of my corals, so like usual I freak out. Yeah, I was gonna attempt to move the clowns to a different tank then after a week or two, move them back and place the female on the nem. I don’t want to hurt the fish though. My anemone settled almost a week ago, and all the fish do is stare at it likes it’s a monster.
Yah, me, I would not touch either of them.Yeah, I was gonna attempt to move the clowns to a different tank then after a week or two, move them back and place the female on the nem. So sorry and a lot of us have been there with corals.Update, my scolds are healthy buggers and love life, the Knicks melted pretty much and formed bjd. I had to toss him. I think that will be my last attempt at keeping a Knicks torch. Sad day brothers and sisters.
