Scoly babies?

I've got like 5or 6 of these. Weird cause it doesn't look like they are coming off the skeleton.

Yep, looks like they're forming new mouths.. eventually you should see a more distinct split off.

From what I read, they are hermaphrodites than can reproduce both sexually and asexually. Most corals have some form of sexual reproduction but seldom are able to complete their life cycle with that method in the home aquaria.

So yes, they are able to split like that[emoji6]

I've only ever had one scoly and not long enough for it to do anything like this. How long have you had this one?

I'm curious, since they are usually single polyps...what do the babies do after they split? Do they separate completely?

It's very odd as it seems like they've developed off the "skirt" of the mother, this piece I had bought had this head and half of another that didn't make it. And it's skeleton is still attached to this one's base

I wonder if they will drop off. I have heard that gonis and bubble corals do the same thing but the buds drop. Is that skeleton to the left of it part of the scoly?
