Hi, My bleeding apple scoly have some black slime, probably some weird algea covering the back of the coral and slowly taking over the tissue of the coral. It's kinda weird since I don't have any algea problem in the tank and the reverse apple just beside it is doing fine. And no fish or invert are eating it if it is algea.

Any ideas what it is and the best way to treat it?

Looks like turf algae and recession of tissue
Reduction of white light will help . So will peroxide

I will try to get some pictures when I'm back home. For the aptasia I know, copperband is in QT ready soon.

Could you get another pic? I'm tempted to say its a sponge but I'd like to confirm
Sorry that's the best I could do with my phone tonight. But to me texture looks like sponge more than algea, and it's forming this weird bumps all around it and growing really fast. Tomorrow I really need to scrap it off before it covers the flesh even more. And should I do a peroxide bath, like 10:1 water/peroxide for 10min? Thanks for the help

Here's the result after 30 minutes of scraping and brushing, not easy to get everything off the cracks of the scoly skeleton. Then I dipped in peroxide for 5 min. Funny how the color of the scoly is much brighter now after the dip. It was definitely sponge . Thanks for the help
