I have had this scoly for about 3 months. Left town and of course come back to a huge hole where the mouth used to be. Not sure if it melted or something perfectly ate it. The body of the coral looked a bit worse a few days ago but the mouth area is skeleton. Is there any hope for this? It responds to food and extends tentacles but it just kinda sits there, hard to say if it can intake small amounts or not. Any advice is appreciated.

Are you sure it's a hole and it's mouth just isn't open? It may be expelling waste.

Yea, definitely loss of tissue. A white picture would help but its all exposed skeleton where the mouth was. Food just kind of sits in the hole and it cannot close over food anymore. Not sure if the stomach is only in the very center or the whole inner circle of the coral. I swear it used to have teeth looking things when there was a mouth, those are gone now. Thanks for help.

Absolutely understand what you're going through. Left for vacation and came back to this. Following along.

It appears to be healing the mouth up. I moved to frag tank in very low light and low flow. Feeding reef roids every other day and a couple good water changes. Ill keep adding pictures but seems much better, hopefully keeps up the trend. Thanks all for the advice, appears to be working.

Sry, was out of town. It did turn around with low flow and light in the frag tank, feedings to. Ended up eventually melting a couple months later though. I’ve heard they are touchy with salinity fluctuations and my ato was acting up when it melted. The mouth definitely did regrow before that issue. Pretty sure something was nipping at it for food so cover it or move to a frat tank of possible.
