Scoly help please

I just got a scoly a few weeks ago and now the skeleton is starting to show , my water parameters are
Ph 8.2
salinity 1.025
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Pho’s 0.25
Nitrate 5.0
Calcium 450
Alkalinity 12( for some reason I can’t get lower)

Have you fed it at all? Alk is concerning. 12 is in range but doesn't give a lot of wiggle room. What test are you using? What salt?

Yea I feed it, I tried krill and it wasn’t taking it so target giving phyto feast. For calcium and alk I use Red Sea test kit and rest API and Red Sea coral salt

Phosphates seem high, I try to keep mine less than 0.1

Might want to try a batch of the regular Red Sea salt to see if you can get that Alk lower. I use Coral Pro as well but I've never had it mix at 12dkh. If you can't do that at the moment make sure the salt that you have is well mixed up when dry. My phosphate is normally around .3 so I wouldn't worry about that yet. Try one thing at a time and start with getting your alk into at least the 10 range.

Scoly comes from slightly lower temp areas so 76-77, if you can without freaking out others.
At night, it should still puff and throw out tentacles.
Feed him every second night to assist in tissue repair.
Watch light, doesn’t really require much, say 80-120 tops.
Sand can be rough on the edges, flesh must always be clean.

I had the same problem a month ago. I found that keeping my alk between 8-9 and ph at 8.2 was key for mine to recover. They still show some Skelton but they are on the mend. Water changes also helped a lot The group pic is there current condition

Agree with @Uncle99 on the temperature. Lowering my temp to 76-77 made a world of difference
