Hi, everyone! I am new to the forum. Quick question about the scoly. When we got it, the colors were amazing and the scoly was nice and plump. Over time it has shrunk in size. We feed it oyster eggs with a baster at night with the lights off. Any ideas of what we could do to get it a bit healthier? Here's a pic. As you can see, we're having a huge problem with the purple sludgy alge due to phosphates in the water and there's some on the scoly which I wll go blow off. It's time for a cleaning on the tank so that'll be gone tomorrow. Any advice appreciated!

What's your phosphates at and what test kit? A little phosphate usually won't be an issue as long as its within a moderate range. Possible alk swing maybe?

Scoly looks a little large to be feeding small oyster eggs to? Not sure how many times your feeding, but you might cut back on the smaller particle food. That may be causing you phosphate issue. Get you parameters back in line, use that turkey baster to keep that algae away from the scoly.
