I have had this Apple Bleeding scoly for about 1.5 years it has been doing great up until about 3 days ago i noticed at night it stop putting out its feedind tentacles.Only thing i did noticed that a Monte plate fell on it during the night and i removed the plate there was a burn on it.Would this cause the Scoly to go down hill.Started to see some skelton around the base today.Anything can i do for it?

I am by no means an expect, but I think it can be saved depending on how bad/not bad the damage is. I've had success with some by adding additional feedings. The tentacles weren't coming out so I would just shut off the pumps and the food right on/near it's mouth. It would then eventually suck it in. Hopefully yours will still eat it and start to see recovery. In my cases it's been recession on the edges or a small "burn hole" but there has been some skeleton sticking through at the time. I've heard scolys can be hard at recovery, but I think as long as you don't have a huge amount of tissue recession in the middle then you have a good chance. I'd have faith and try whatever you can. I thought I was going to lose one once and almost quit, but now it's almost bigger and better than ever. I attribute it to feeding and other than that leaving it alone and making sure nothing bothers the injured area.

Thanks for the info.I will give it a try.Hopefully not to late.

Curious as well, I had a orange plate coral free it self from the barriers I put up to keep it from moving all over, and it decided to sail into my scoly. Now I have a dime sized burn on the outter edge of the apple scoly (the scoly is about 3.5" across) and at the burn mark, the skeleton is showing, however the rest of the coral is puffed up and as large as ever. Just wondered how your is doing? Im hoping that its okay.

Hate to loose any coral's but hate even more when a 15 dollar plate manages to find its way 7"'s across the sand bottom and hits a $225 coral. And the $$ coral takes the damage... Owell, time to create a rock barrier between the two so that the plate cant walk back over...

Sorry to say but,its looks like i am going to lose it.More and more flesh is peeling off.it sucks.thanks for asking.
