I received my first Aussie Scoly today and I am worried about it. At first when I was opening the packages I thought sweet, he threw in a free chalice but then I realized it was the Scoly I was looking at. It is super deflated and has skeleton sticking up. Is this normal for them after shipping? It has been in the tank for right around 10 hours now and still looks this way.

I have no clue but I am thinking of purchasing one and if you can pm me where you got it that would be great, goodluck with it:)

I only know what i have read on them. I see that it is placed next to a clam,What i read was that they dont need/want much light. You can have them survive in higher light but you will get and keep better color in lower light. I would place it in a shady part of the tank and see if it starts to inflate. It should be fine but like i said i have just read up on them since i plan on getting one for myself

Yes it is right next to a clam but in a spot that I think is fairly shaded. I do have a more shaded spot so I will move it there.

Any better pics? Its not a good sign when the moth is open like that, I would place it in a low light low flow area and pray for help. I cant tell from the pic how bad it is maybe a top down pic would help or a close up. If its feeders come out at night in the next few days try to spot feed it. Dont give up on it I had a few scollys go down pretty bad and was able to bring them back there just like any other LPS they can regenerate themselfs in no time. GOOD LUCK!!!!! I am not a scolly master but I hope some of this helps.

I just got one in today and this is how it came in, the pic was taken 10 min after I put it in the tank. Not trying to show off just wanted to show you how it should arive so you dont get scared out of the scolly game.

Right on, where did you get it from?

I can't get a top down pic without taking my hood off the tank...

I got it from Brain at Blue Water Tropical, it came in really nice. Tell him I sent you he will take care of you.

i just recieved a scoly the other day. they were like reefer831's. they were eating after 20min in the tank! greedy buggers!

I have had them with a gaping mouth. Just give it time. :)

It's mouth is closed up today and a little more inflated. The lights aren't on and it is nowhere near where it should be yet.

It looks like it was stressed a little from shippin, but after reading your last post, its probally going to be fine. Good luck!

Andy, the one you from us is looking awesome!
