I had the same issue with one. It was next to the other scoly I've had for years. Unfortunately it kept receding. It even ate until the bitter end. Very strange

I have a similiar issue with my scoly. When I bought it, it already had issues, so I got i at a really good price. I figured I would take it home and nurture it back to health. I placed it on the bottom of the tank to acclimate it to my lights. It did not change much for the first couple days then it started receeding more. I moved it to different parts of the tank with different lighting and water flow. Nothing made it happy and when I tried to target feed it, the fish would take the food even though the lights were dimming and they had been feed. I decided to move it to a breeding cage. The last picture is the day after I put it in the breeding cage. After a few weeks, having fed it well, it began to puff out, so I moved it into the tank again. Within minutes it deflated and receeded again (middle picture). Again I moved it all over the tank and it still looked awful. I gave in and moved it back to the cage and it has been there for 2 months..the top picture was just taken..I just don't get it...I hope someone gives us an idea of what is causing this.

One of my scoots started receding a little while back. There was this weird white sponglike mucus stuff around its base. I thought maybe it was some kind of aggressive sponge or something so I pulled it all off. Had to do this for like 3 days in a row. Eventually is just never came back and now my scoly is back to normal!
