Scolymia frag Success

Hey all. my lfs who is very reputable and I've had no problems with, has a scolymia fragged into quarters. About $30 each. The frags looked to have healed nicely. My question is who has purchased a frag of a scoly and had success? How long, estimate, before it grew to a full button? I would really like to have a scoly, I just don't like the price tag associated with them, so these frags look like a nice option. Thanks

To be honest I do not think I have heard of them doing well after fragging but I could be wrong

My friend purchased a fragged scoly which was 2 halves, one a warpaint and the other a bleeding apple that the vendor had done as an experiment to see if they would fuse together. Ended up with 2 normal oblong scolys together on one rock. That was half scolys though, not quarters.

Do you know how long it took for them to heal and become whole?

It was pretty much healed when he got it.

I bought one from gonzo a few hrs ago, it did take like a yr to be a full button. Now sits like three in across and awesome as hell

It's been a couple years, so it's a slow process.

I agree. I went about a year without feeding my frags and they grew very little. But, you could tell they were growing when I was feeding them regularly.
