Is it normal for a new scoly to show its skeleton like this? Is it just irritated?

It may just need to adjust but definitely keep an eye on it. How long has it looked like that? Make sure it is in a low flow and low light area of the tank.

It was just put in the tank maybe 5 minutes ago.

It should recover with good water quality. Low light low flow should help. That is definitely not normal though. You can help it out by feeding it at night when the feeders extend

These are both pretty rough! I suggest low light and low flow and if the mouth is in tact maybe some spot feeding. Scolys can be hit or miss and I see a lot of them come in that way after shipping.

This Scoly survived a huge tank crash it was 95% dead and to this day it’s still coming back strong
