Can anyone tell me what these white things are on my scoly? I bought this at reefapalooza ny and when I got it home the next couple of days I was feeding it and the tentacles were coming out and all was good but now the tentacles don't seem to come out anymore even when I place food on it, and there are the things on it.

Does it look kinda curly and stringy? If so you might have over fed it and that is part of its digestive bits. They only need food once maybe twice a week.

An honest thing, you shouldn't feed it. It's very hard to tell when they are hungry/full and many people who keep them just feed coral frenzy or such. Here is mine I got at rap NYC this year and I never feed it

Those are messentrial filaments... not a good thing.
You need to figure out what's irritating it.
Also, they do need to be fed.
About once or twice a month is sufficient

No I actually haven't fed it in a while ,cuz the tentacles haven't been coming out. I thought it was supposed to be a little puffier in the flesh, but that white stuff still doesn't look right

Id stop trying to feed it for now and leave it alone, make sure its not getting sand on it somehow.

Actually it was getting sand on it, for some reason out of nowhere my clownish started clearing out the back of the tank, now I have a glass bottom in the back corner, could the sand have irritated it?

Its possible its just sand but that usually only lasts a short period of time so I would think its something else. Long term sucess feeding seems to be important but it doesnt need to be feed that often.
