I have had a scopas tang for about a month. Today when I woke up he/she had turned all black and and has stayed that way all day. He is still eating and seems healthy. No visible parasites to be seen. I have read some threads stating this is normal but just wanting to get any info about the color change.

I would think (total guess) that your Scopas is having color changes just like a foxface based on their temperament. Have you noticed any other fish bullying him? Or he bullying someone else?

Your biggest sign would be if his fins stay flared out all the time. When territorial temperament issues like bullying are going on.....their fins are flared out when they try to make themselves look as big as possible. Size matters over territorial disputes

The tang and the female clown have been having some minor territory disagreements. My female clown has recently turned very aggressive. When ever I clean the tank or feed the anemone she bites me the entire time. The tang is back to normal color today so I guess he was just angry yesterday.
