Scopas Tang in QT

Something strange happened during the QT process of my Scopas tang. In QT with a small cleaner wrasse, 15 gallon under copper power, about 2.0 ppm (checked with Hanna checker daily). After about 2 weeks, the tang started developing white spots. I have some CP on hand so I made a separate QT, put the tang in there, and has cleared up since. Wrasse showing no signs of disease. Any idea what could have happened?? How could it have developed white spots under copper??

Sometimes during copper treatment, tangs especially, will develop lymphocystis. It's a virus that will come and go.

Thanks, didn’t know tangs were susceptible to lymph during QT. Puts my mind at ease.

Thanks, didn’t know that either. Seems to be doing better under CP. No spots, full color, and eating like a champ. To be safe, I’m going to reset the QT clock on it.

Good to hear it's doing better. I think I've observed something similar, but I heard that copper doesnt kill ich in the trophont stage, so if it's already on the fish but not visible, they will grow, then die when they fall off.
