Had this Scopas for around 6 months now, always been healthy…. Today he looks like ha has a mucus type build up around his rear end. Swimming happily, eating etc…. Only fish showing symptoms.

Been doing some work on the tank the last few days so maybe stress related?

I’ve fed some nori and frozen mysis today

Anyone able to diagnose?

Doesn't look too concerning to me.

Have you tried adding Selcon to the food? Literally thought it was magic in my tank.

With a huge black and gem tangs, achilles and achilles hybrid, multiple yellow and purple tangs, blue tang, etc... all in the same tank, there were always chases / stress / fights / damaged fins, etc... feel soaking food in Selcon really helped.

Any other fish that would stress it out?

Not heard of Selcon before, I’ll look it up to see if I can get it in the UK

He’s the boss of the tank usually! He has a cosmetus wrasse who he’s best mates with…. Always together. Then clownfish, cardinals, blenny, dragonet, mckoskers and some inverts…. Maybe it’s just me messing with the tank. I’ve added a cabinet to the side of my existing cabinet which involved an impact driver driving screws into the cabinet under the DT… only 3 screws but maybe that was enough stress?

Yeah wouldn't be worried about those TBH.

Tangs are goofy, I literally thought they were going to drop dead or were sick all the time. Especially darker ones like the Black, Gem, Achilles and Achilles Hrybid, I was constantly looking "trying" to see if something was on them.

Is it on both sides or just the right side?
Jay

Is it good or bad to be on both?
It rules out a single injury. Odds of it getting the same injury on both sides is slim….so this is either mucus or a bacterial infection.

I get ya. Tang looking better this morning, marks still there but much faded from yesterday, will continue to monitor!

Just got a little spooked as in 12 months in the hobby I’ve had no end of issues with coral but never had any fish illness!
