My Scopus tang was fine yesterday he has been in qt for 8 days with .5 copper when I bought him he had ich ( white spots) but put him copper from day 1 and a few days later no more white spots but I woke up this morning to find him covered in dark looking spots all over mostly his head and fins not much on his body .. hes been eating, yesterday was the first time he went after frozen like my yellow tang of 3 years and I saw him eat some left over pellets this morning so that's good.

But anybody help please. I have prazipro, malachite green, and ich-x and copper

Thanks in advance

He looks to have a bacterial infection. You'll need antibiotics such as kanaplex, furan2, metroplex. You can do all three at the same time for a wider spectrum.

I have lifeguard is that ok and can I do any of these copper ? He still have treatment till Friday on copper

That product isn't likely to help in any way. Antibiotics such as kanaplex or furan2 will be needed as I said. Yes, the medications I mention can be combined with copper so long as care is taken and extra oxygen is added to the tank via an airstone or small powerhead pointed at the surface of the water.

I have zero experience with lifeguard, so I can't comment there.

Yes you can dose antibiotics with cobbler. It's not preferred because of the risk ( I say risk, but it's more a likelihood) of a bacterial bloom. If you choose to do both you'll want to make sure you aerate the tank heavily. I'd suggest a powerhead pointed at the surface AND a couple airstones.

Alternatively, since you said he finishes copper Friday, you can actually transfer him to another STERILE qt if you have one. Humblefish actually has a great writeup about it.

I'd actually advise against adding copper to any cobbler. I can't imagine that tastes very good. You can, however, use that advice with copper though ;)

Idk cupramine would be the one to use thou haha.

And thanks for all the help I'll get what I can today and order the rest.

LOL. I never tried antibiotics with my cobbler, but I'm sure it's not ideal for a dessert. ;)

Link works fine for me. If need be, type bacterial infection predicament in the search bar.

I typed it in and found it very informative. I doubt I'll find Melafix in store but I should be able to get kanaplex or metroplex. So I'll get them and dose what I can until Friday cuz that's his last day of copper then move him to a new tank and hit the antibiotics hard for 10 days

Thanks for all the help everyone .. new question if anyone knows.. but I'm getting a snowflake eel either today or tomorrow and not sure if I can qt him with copper ... can I?

Dang ok thanks, saving those pictures for sure lol

So what is more important to get today kana or metro? Cuz there alot cheaper online but I for sure want to get at least 1 to help him till the others get here Friday

kanaplex would be the most important... followed by furan2

Ok thanks I read doing both kana and metro to put them in the food ... I feed frozen mysis with a baster so can I just add the kana and metro to the water I thaw the mysis In and just dump all the water in the tank?

You'll dose the kanaplex directly in the water of a QT. Feeding it will not help quickly enough I'm afraid.

Not good this morning I did 6 scoops of the lana plex yesterday but woke up like this.. so put the tank on carbon to remove everything but doesn't look good :/
