Hey everyone I have a scopus tang that has some spots on him. None of my fish In my main display have ich I had him in qt for a month and when I put him in the tank he has some spots on him. He’s eating very healthy no scratching.

Can you post a picture of the tang?

While in the QT did you treat the tang with anything or just observed for a month?

Can you post some pictures? When did you notice the spots? It could be particles from the water column. The parasite will attach to the fish for a period of 3-7 days before they drop off to reproduce. If the spots are gone in less time than 2 days then ich wasn't the culprit.

To clarify you mean Cupramine? How long were you holding at .50ppm and what test kit were you using?

He’s been in the tank for a week now noticed it today

Suggested treatment overview. It will cover Ich, Velvet, Brook, Uronema and flukes.

- Ramp copper to therapeutic levels over a 1-2 day period, adding both AM/PM to break up the dosage. Hold Therapeutic levels for 35 days.

- Wait approx. 2 days and make sure fish has successfully taken the medication and is ideally eating. Then add the first dose of API General Cure. Wait 5-7 days to conduct 25% water change and then administer the 2nd dose and wait another 5-7 days to conduct second water change.

- After the 35 days of treatment, run carbon and remove medication with large water changes and then observe for 2 weeks.

So no use of a test kit to verify the copper level? How long was the tang in the copper?

+1 You need a good test kit when treating copper if you want effective results. Holding therapeutic levels of copper for 35 days if using 1 QT tank are crucial for the entire period to eradicate.
