Scotts fairy wrasse compatabliity question.

Well...I found a scotts fairy wrasse that I though about purchasing. The thing is I already have a mystery wrasse. I have heard mixed reviews on mixing other wrasse with the mystery and wanted to check and see what people thought about it.

Not sure people say Mystery Wrasse's are aggressive, mine is scared of his own shadow.... Never bothers anyone and sometimes the most non aggressive fish chase him around...

I finally trapped out and traded in my five year old mystery wrasse two weeks ago. Finally, I can manipulate the livestock with some foresight! Aaaah. The tank is SO much more peaceful now.

Mystery's can be nasty, especialy when already established. Mine was a model citizen until the female M. meleagris (leopard wrasse) I'd had for three years went missing a month or so ago. It had to be the mystery. What is the size difference?

The scotts is large...but I don't want to risk it so I will probably forget it.

Well I have a mystery wrasse, and he gets chased and everything by my six line wrasse. I need to catch that guy lol.

funny you mention 6 line i have two of them in two tanks and they do push there way around. my mystery was a whimp compaired to him.

My myster had grown to be a big, fat, lunker...and he had NO fear of other livestock, regardless of size.

it can be hit or miss with the mystery but also keep in mind that scotts are one of the most aggressive fairys and are quite nasty also and most times do better in a tank with just scotts fairys...they also lose alot of color unless they are kept with females.so that is one drawback as well

If any fairy wrasse has a chance against a Mystery wrasse, it's probably Scott's. They both can be really nasty and the fact that the Scott's will probably battle back might just make matters worse; soimetimes aggressive fish will leave passive fish alone due to lack of a threat.

yes this is true..i might would even bet that the scotts might take out the mystery but they might leave each other alone
