Looks like Stomatella snail

Hope someone can tell you, I can't. but sorta looks like a stomatella snail-which are good. try looking them up to see if it is the same.

That's what it appears to be... after checking. Thanks! Already dumped it in my DT.

Brown-ish algae is setting in. Looks like it's time for a clean up crew and possibly a blenny...?

Pics of brown algae -- I assume diatoms. Starting to dose MicroBacter Clean and will add a few more CUC.



Water parameters for today:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0.15
Nitrate: 7

All 4 corals seem to be acclimating well, however the firework clove polyp seems kinda touchy. Opens/closes more frequently than the others. I've adjusted the flow and lighting to help, but we shall see.

Added CUC on Sun 6/27. They've been doin work! Considering a blue tuxedo urchin too.

- 1 Emerald crab
- 1 Turbo snail
- 2 Nassarius snails
- 2 Cerith snails
- 2 Trochus snails

Three of my four corals are thriving. Unfortunately the turbo and crab cleaned off the firework clove polyp and crushed it in the process.

Tests today:
SG = 1.024
dKh = 8.8
pH = 7.87
Mg = 1130
Ca = 478

Tank is doing well! Had major green slime algae issue on the sandbed and rockwork/glass, but it resolved after:

(1) dosing Vibrant for about 3 weeks
(2) adding a phosphate reactor
(3) adding a Diamond Goby and conch to my clean up crew
(4) reducing feedings (have now increased them again b/c more fish and no algae issue)

Tank now looks very clean. Also started running a UV sterilizer, so maybe that helped too. Planning to add a carbon reactor as well. I have a skimmer, but it doesn't seem necessary unless I have issues again.

Calcium (12mL BRS Ca Chloride) and Alkalinity (15mL BRS Soda Ash) get dosed daily. Mag dosing every 2-4 weeks.

Tunze 3155 ATO has been working flawlessly.

A few weeks ago I noticed that some sort of amphipod/copepod (tiny white critters) are present. Hadn't seen them before then.

Current corals:
- 2 different Zoas - sea urchin keeps pulling one, need to re-glue
- Frogspawn
- GSP
- Galaxia

All doing well, need to add more. I'd like a hammer or torch and more Zoas.

Current fish/CUC:
- 2 clowns
- 1 diamond goby
- 1 sea urchin
- 1 emerald crab
- 1 conch
- 2 turbo snails
- 2 trochus snails
- 3 nassarius snails

All doing well. Freddy the crab keeps trying to eat snails, so I think I need to feed him more...?

Tank has been wet for ~8 months. Was running problem-free for a while, but have been battling either a cyano or Dino issue for the past month or two. Can anyone help me I.D. this stuff? Manual removal is the only thing that seems to help, but it comes back on the glass (it’s on the sandbed too) within 2-4 days. Been dosing Vibrant weekly. I’ve attached some photos and videos to help identify, as well as some parameters that might help:

Running:
- UV sterilizer 24/7
- small BRS reactor w/ GFO & Carbon
- medium-ish flow (LPS+softies only)
- filter sock
- 2 auto feeds daily (fish consume all)
- lights on ~10 hrs/day

Params:
Phosphate = 0.05
Nitrate = 5-10
pH = 8-8.2

Any help is appreciated! So much conflicting info out there, makes the I.D. process difficult for us newbies!

Brownish/reddish in color. Present on glass and sand bed, not as much on aquascape. Does not seem to be toxic to any members of the CUC, but the snails don’t seem to like eating it as much as some of the other green algae that I’ve had. Does come off the glass when I blow with a turkey baster, but needs to be scraped off to completely remove it. When scraped, it tends to form strings/sheets. FYI tank was started with Marco dry live rock.

Help with identification, please. A few new pics. Looks like a few different nuisance blooms. One looks like some sort of red hair algae and the other a more greenish one with bubbles and upward snot-like growth.

Our diamond goby looks a little skinny and isn’t sifting the sand as much either. Definitely acting weird. Wonder if she doesn’t like what’s growing on the sandbed…?

Looks like cyano to me. Should be able to blow it off and suck it up with a turkey blaster. IMO, I suggest staying away from vibrant - it's almost certainly just repackaged Algaefix - which can be overdosed. There is a good thread in the chem forum on it right now.
