Just got this Nuvo SR tank and felt a scratch or.... crack? I can’t even tell.... on the bottom of the tank.

Any recommendation? Should I try putting aquarium silicon just to be safe before putting stuff in if it’s a scratch?

I personally wouldn't risk it cuz ots on the bottom so will be under a lot of pressure. This seem like it will be a weak spot in the long run.

Looks like a simple scratch. Can you feel on both sides of glass? If no it’s a scratch.

How large is the tank?

First, you need to identify if it’s a scratch or a crack. If it’s a crack, you should be able to see it all the way through. If it’s a scratch, you should just be able to run your fingernail along it.

Just from the pictures, it looks like a scratch.

Positive it's not just silicone? Try to scrape it a bit.

Looks to me from pattern possible sealant. Take fingernail and see if you can scratch it loose or off. If not- minor blemish

ah I tried to remove it with my nails and tape because at first I thought it was silicon sealant.

But still there and I can feel it between with my nails when I run over them.

I can’t really check the bottom of the tank... Bc it has that black mat under that came installed with the tank.

Tried shining flash light from different angles and no.. rainbow..

only concern is Bc it’s on the bottom of the tank pretty small if it’s cosmetic I wouldn’t care since it will get covered up. Just more worried about it growing bigger... and water going everywhere haha..

Does it stick up off the surface? Then sealant.
If not a Crack, no worries.
My bet is a scratch, that would not worry me one bit.

just making sure... it’s normal to be able to feel it with my nail? Haha I only really have acrylic so this is entirely new to me...

If tank is acrylic, then its a scratch and I would say low risk. You can fill it in with two part marine epoxy or just leave it. NOVUS sells scratch remover kits and not very expensive. I own one

She’s a Beaut! Looks super clean to me.
There’s nothing wrong with getting too into fish tanks:) I’m guessing you’re also keeping the nano?
