hello. Some of you may have heard some of my complaints about the scratches in my new 125 acrylic tank, both inside and outside the tank. I've been researching some of the possible fixes and have ran across a couple that I am considering, such as lifegard aquatics. Do any of you have any experience with any of the possible products and how they work? Any good/negative stories? Any help would be great appreciated. Thanks!

never heard of them but for the outside of the tank just use a headlight restore kit works great. For the inside it would depend on where I scratches are and if you could lower the tank water level down that much but in anyevent some super fine sandpaper and elbow grease will work

Ive used the Novus line of products for buffing out acrylic scratches with some success. The worst is the scratches inside the tank, as they give algae a foothold on your viewing pane that they never let go of. Novus is fairly cheap, and is often carried at LFS.i recommend using a car polishing "ball" type polisher, over the included bonnet, as its larger and you and control it a bit better, but other than that, the kit gives you everything to do the job, save 2-3 hours and a drill

Wipe the inside of your tank with a mr clean magic eraser. It's will get all of the algae out of the deeper scratches and you'll be amazed at how insignificant most scratches are when they are clean.
