Scratches on inside of tank

Is there anything that can be done to reduce the appearance of scratches on the inside of a tank?
I've got several right on the front pane of my tank that i knew i would just have to deal with but they're becoming a huge eye sore now that algae has started growing in them
I havnt tried anything as of yet to keep them clean other then my flipper magnet but that does nothing for the algae inside the cracks

I use the original mr clean magic eraser for algae in the scratches. Works great.

Doesn’t seem like a good idea to put a magic eraser inside a running tank. There’s cleaning and antimicrobial elements that would be potentially toxic to livestock within the tank.

I haven’t noticed any negatives using it. Make sure it’s the original though, no extra added scents etc. It’s popular for people using acrylic for their reef tanks. There are some other treads on the subject here on R2R.

Get yourself some razor blades and a good long reach scraper and keep it clean. I have the same problem and its the only thing you can do unless your tank is acrylic.

Hmm that’s interesting... learn something new everyday in this hobby! I always assumed all regular household cleaning products were a big no when it came to cleaning the tank, especially on the inside due to cleaning residues left behind and their toxicity. Good to know that is not the case with magic erasers! [emoji846]

Seachem also sells a foam like very similar material to MrClean and it’s 100% safe. Razor blades also work but for $2.50 the foam block works great check with your LFS.

I use the original magnet cleaner with the felt like material instead of a razor. Works great but my scratches aren’t very deep.
