Scratching during ich treatment

So I'm pretty sure my fish have ich. I started dosing copper over last and the Hanna checker is reading 1.89 ppm. I noticed that my fish are still occasionally scratching, though not as much as before. I know scratching can still occur even after the ich has detached, but I'm just wondering when should the scratching stop overall?

I've seen 10 to as much as 14 days after reaching therapeutic for some fish to stop scratching.

Agree.

Some can get “skin” irritation from copper as a side effect as well on occasion.
