Hey all, i'm looking to do a screen cover for my 29g biocube. I saw the screen kits on BRS and different diy methods but they are all for tanks that are square/rectangle. The biocube has a bowfront so i'm not sure how to go about doing something like this. Any suggestions?

You are right about the screen kits being square.

On past BioCubes I've had I used egg crate which could pretty much be made to shape for the BC. I also took out the complete center of egg crate and used leftover 1/4 inch clear netting from screen kits and it worked fine.

If anyone would be able to make exactly what you want it would be cromag27

This may be too DIY for you but...

Screen frame with nylon 1/4" screen and an acrylic cut out for the bow.

This actually looks perfect. Should of thought about doing that. Also, do you have any problems with the acrylic bending at all?

yes, you can see it in the photo. acrylic absorbs more water than other plastics which causes bowing.

Yes. It has bowed the thin bows more and faster than the thicker stuff. But it still bows. .

Gotta spend all my money on my kids for Christmas...
But I don't mind my DIY lid. I am actually proud of it. It cost me about $12 to make out of parts I have laying around. Are you saying you don't like it? Awww, man. [emoji6]

not at all. i love diy. but some people end up not liking the potato chip effect. ;)

I like it, i really do, but there is no way I'm spending $135 on a netting hood.

everybody has their budget, i certainly mine! if you diy it, use 3/8” polycarbonate. that’s the size i use but i also use a special type, which would be way too expensive for one lid. try your local plastic shops and see if they have any.
