Screen tops/skimmer vs. Dust

I really like that tank too. Isn't there a bubble trap-ish feature between the first second and third chambers? Is the water level in the return section above the divider between the reactor/skimmer section and the return section? Do you have anything in any of the sections?

Maybe @Ryanbrs can answer this?! I don't believe the reason was ever covered in the earlier build videos. The answer may be for access but I then would have liked to see a method to raise/lower it.

Really just lower profile aesthetic appeal. The smaller hood places de-emphasizes it and makes the eye focus on the tank rather than the hood. Looks pretty sharp in person : )

Ryan you could tell us it's because aliens told you to make it smaller and we'd say okay and do it that way from now on. Lol. But as always it makes sense.

There isn't really a bubble trap but more so just alternating chambers so when the water transitions from the higher ones to the main it just cascades everything over with it. I had a filter sock that I ditched because I don't have enough of them and currently a ball of chaeto. I cut some tough rigid black foam to squeeze in where the water cascades over to catch debris and pieces of chaeto but that can only do so much.

Is this drawing of the back of your lagoon? So the first under into the second section would trap bubbles?

Right but without any floss or sock or reactor in the 1st compartment the bubbles made from the water falling actually push their way down and under into 2 and into the main. This should stop when I put floss trays in.
