I bought a roll of nylon netting but can't seem to find any vinyl screen frame material. Does anybody use aluminum over their tank?

Yes. Look at Lowe’s or Home Depot.

Yes, my frame is aluminum. It's been several years and no problem with it yet.

You can paint them also. I added eggcrate to the front and back of my old tops to accommodate over the edge returns. Spray painted the frames black to match.

What size netting do you all recommend? Any reason to get 1/8” vs 1/4”. I will have small wrasses.

No issues and they were on the tank for several years.
