Hi all. Seems like my reef octopus skimmer pump is calling it quits. I have been contemplating buying an algae scrubber lately as was wanting a few opinions on which would be a better export option. Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks

You can also run a scrubber, but don't ditch the skimmer.you need that. If you're pump went out you can just replace pump. Reef octopus is a well known and good skimmer so finding a replacement pump should do the trick.Hi all. Seems like my reef octopus skimmer pump is calling it quits. Thanks, I will certainly check your thread out.I agree both would be better. Replacing the impeller may be all your skimmer pump needs and not cost that much.
You can build an ATS for almost nothing. Look at my DIY thread on ATS for under $30. Mine works fantastic on my 300 gallon. I can drive my nitrates and phosphates to zero in a short period of time by running it 24/7. Not a good idea though.
which skimmer? Thanks, I will certainly check your thread out.
The varios is the replacement for my current pump. RODC 5500swhich skimmer?
if varios pump, it might be the controller, like mine, which is $75 to replace.
