Scrubbing algae in tank question

Question? I have a little bit of stringy hair type algae and maybe a bit of bryopsis. If I go in with a toothbrush and clean it off and strands are left in the aquarium, will they land back on the rocks and regrow or just die?

hi some will die some will regrow ,pinch out with fingers or remove rock scrub in sw swish in sw and put back,or get something that eats it ,happy reefing
