Is it safe to scrub GSP with a brush to oblivion while rock is in tank? I removed a huge portion by peeling, but there's still a piece left (about 1.5" by 1.5") that I want gone. Any of you try scrubbing it inside the tank? Will it spread or will it create a toxin in the tank?

How big is the tank?
I had the same issue in a 28, I did notice decreased PE to my sps after trying to manually remove.
Run some new charcoal.
You could cover the spots with underwater epoxy.

Tank is 220g. Think I should be fine scrubbing it? Or should I just buy epoxy and smother it?

It always seems to grow back when I scrape it. Expoxy or kalkwasser paste or some other chemical warfare would work better.

In a 220 I do not see an issue.

This is the patch I’m trying to get rid of.

I ordered some underwater epoxy. I think I’ll try that first. Hopefully I get it in the next couple of days. This stuff grows like .25” a night. lol

Epoxy isn't working... Looks like I'm just going to scrub it a little each day until it completely dies off of this rock. Fingers crossed.

It takes a week or more. You have to make a pancake shape and cover the entire colony and leave in place.
The area does look small so scrubbing should not be an issue though, but it might grow back.

Here's to hoping it doesn't. lol

You guys... This coral DOES NOT QUIT. lol

I've been scrubbing once a day. Gonna do it until I don't see any more polyps popping up on the rocks.

I'm convinced this coral will be around with the cockroaches after humanity ends.

And scrape down to rock.

I have purple star polyp I have been killing with Aptasia-x for years. The stuff works great, it just seems the star polyp pops up everywhere. I would be afraid scrubbing it would only spread it, making your situation worse.

Here's hoping that doesn't happen. I'll keep Aptasia-X in my back pocket for the future. Thanks.
