Gresham was nice enough to invite SDMAS to be a part of BAYMAC this year. Boy am I glad I went!

My good friends Dave and Jess were gracious enough to be my hosts for the weekend. Our VP, Dave Morris, was already up in SF working, so we decided to make a weekend of it. I mailed up all the club booth stuff in advance, and flew up on Friday night.

I got a chance to see Jess's gorgeous reef in person finally...

Saturday morning we drove to the show, and set up. The show was great. Lots of people. Everyone from BAR was really nice, and I finally got to meet some folks in person that I've only known "online". It's just a great feeling when you meet folks that end up just as nice in person as you were hoping

A few ex-SDMAS'ers were there in force and even representing with our T-shirts (sorry BAR, but they were our peeps originally, so we get to have them for one day  )

Reef empire hauled some nice stuff up to the show (they could have saved themselves the trouble and just called me to come buy the red goni while still in San Diego though! )...

Sunday was the LFS crawl!! HUGE thanks to Dave, Jess's hubby, for driving us around all day!!!!

We started at Ocean Treasures, where they had some really nice fish (including really nice looking small moorish idols ) I unfortunately forgot to start taking pics at this point :crossedlips:

Next, we hit a fresh water place.... sooooo cool!

The next stop was a total trip! Flowers in the front and reef in the back :squigglemouth: The place totally reminded my of a shop in the San Fernando valley, 20 years ago, filled with sea apples, crinoids, ribbon eels, and all those other fun things we really shouldn't be keeping/importing :snicker:

That 6th Avenue shop with the flowers in the front and reef in the back looks right up my alley!

Yeah, if you are looking for something quirky for your tank, definitely a place to look.

I love both plants and reef stuff ... though my orchid collection has suffered since reefing as they don't get the TLC from me anymore!

Those orchids there were BIG! I was sooo tempted. But the thought of flying with plants and corals was just too much for me to deal with LOL!

Great pics and thread! Nice to see the SD peeps at Baymac and your shirt cracked me up.
you can't go wrong with the places you visited except 6th ave, that pic of the skate in the small tank made me cringe. :(
