What color is it?
And yes, a picture would help greatly.
My first thought is that it is a bleached H. crispa, which have awful track records.
Some questions;
What size tank?
What lights?
How long has the tank been set up?
What are your current water parameters --- with numbers please.
Tap or RO/DI?

I don't know how to put up a picture but the anemone died this morning. The tank has been set up for two years. The anemone was white with purple tips. The tank is 20 gallons which the pet store said was big enough to put it in. The light is led with a white light for during the day and blue for at night. And I buy my saltwater I don't make it. Don't want to do something wrong. All my parameter numbers are in the correct range. Don't know where my paper went at this second.

With it being white with purple tips I feel better about it being an H. crispa.
A 20 gallon tank would not be big enough for one --- had one over 10 years ago, it took up about 1/3 of my 75.
Also, avoid any and all white hosting anemones --- they are bleached. They can recover, but it is an uphill battle best to be avoided.

"Best" is a vague term. Will depend on each set up. A high flow tank with no sandbed would be a poor set up for an S. haddoni and/or an M. doreensis. However, that would work well for an H. magnifica.
So, would be better off knowing what tank set up you desire and pick an anemone to fit it. Or pick a species of anemone that you like and set up your tank for its needs.
