I’ve read conflicting things so I’m curious about people’s actual experience on here. I want to add a sea cucumber to my 45gal cube for the purpose of helping maintain a clean sand bed. I am worried about crabs or perhaps even some fish trying to turn the cucumber into dinner TIA

current inhabitants
Emerald crabs
Mexican red leg hermit crabs
Pistol shrimp
Red blooded cleaner shrimp
Peppermint shrimp
Helfrichi Firefish
clowns
Starry Blenny
Banggaii Cardinal
Aiptasia eating file fish
Yellow watchman goby
RBTA
Mostly soft corals some SPS

I have tiger tail cucumbers, the only thing on your list I ever saw have a go at one is the blenny, if a cucumber was in it's fav spot it would bite it to try and get it to move, not try to kill it.

Thank you! I’ve also considered a diamond goby which I love and they’ve always done such a great job cleaning the sand in my other tanks but I’m worried about the yellow watchman goby not getting along with a diamond goby.

@najer quick question. So with everything we just discussed. Would I be able to keep tongan nassarious snails or will my crabs kill them all eventually? I’d like to get like 10 of them

The only thing I ever saw go for a nassa was a 3 inch yellow wrasse, grabbed the "snorkel" as food, dropped it straight away.
