Sea cucumbers good for alkalinity?

I came across this NatGeo video on Youtube about sea cucumbers‘s poop.
NatGeo claims the following: “Coral reefs benefit from the alkalinity of the sea cucumbers droppings, buffering them from the effects of ocean acidification.”

Have you noticed a difference in your alk with/without a cucumber?

This is a studied effect. The way they increase alkalinity is by dissolving CaCO3
They have the numbers on the effects it had on their fish tank so you could see how much it would possibly raise alkalinity by lol... without doing the calculations, I'm guessing you'd need a very fat and hungry cucumber to keep up with a full SPS tank's alkalinity needs
