See that small whitish fin looking thing hanging out on the stalk of my candy cane. Does anyone know what that is?

I think there are different answers about these. I like them. They look reefy. I particular enjoy one attached to one of my snails. Looks like little rain umbrella, keeps the nail from getting wet hehe. They filter feed and hence it’s CUC, it is however part of the bio load and if there were too many it could be perceived as a visual nuisance, even as a food concurrence to corals. I never had too many, they stay alive only as I feed the corals.

Feather-duster worms like this guy are absolutely harmless, and simply filter plankton and detritus from the water. On rare occasions, some species can become a bit more numerous than some aquarium keepers like ... a copper band butterfly would quickly trim them back to more desirable levels.
